When I was younger, I obsessed with addressing my weaknesses. I was going to fix them, dammit, and transform them into strengths. Then, of course, I would become a dynamite powerhouse and train the whole world to heel at my command.
This, as you know, is the standard operating procedure for brilliant young minds plotting world domination.
Then I read something that changed my perspective on things:
Play to your strengths, not your weaknesses. If you work on your weaknesses, with hard work and determination you’ll get to average. But if you work on your strengths, your weaknesses will cease to matter.
It completely transformed how I think of myself and my growth process. What insights does it trigger for you?
