Something a little weird about me– I’ve always been confident. Not popular — I was the weird kid who ate lunch alone for the first ten years of school — but always really happy with who I was and assured of my self-worth.
So confident, in fact, that I thought there must be something wrong with me. Normal people seemed to be consumed with anxiety and self-loathing, people were confessing to it left, right, and centre. Their lack of confidence, their fear of not measuring up. I had the opposite problem — – — I had the pride, so where was the fall?
The book is a series of email correspondences between Joel and I over a period of months, each sharing our tips and tricks for leading, how we got the confidence to say “Here. Go where I go,” how we nurtured the people around us, and what we got from the relationship in return.
I hope you find it as inspiring, thought-provoking and grounding as the experience of writing it was for me.
